1.  Recently I sent out an ALLAUX on the effects of delayed travel claim
submission on our budget cycle and the negative outcomes that will result if
we do not submit timely reimbursement requests.  The same is true for Patrol
Order reimbursement.  Last year, approximately 18% of our patrol
reimbursements were submitted well after the end of our fiscal year which
closes out on September 30th.  As the Coast Guard implements more stringent
budget controls and measures we need to modify our practices in order to get
maximum utilization out of the funds we are allotted.  I need all of you to
submit timely patrol order reimbursement requests.  If you have completed a
patrol and not yet submitted your reimbursement request, please do so
immediately.  For all remaining patrols it is critical that you submit your
reimbursement requests as soon as practical after completion of your patrol.
For all SO-OPS your role is critical in the processing of these claims.  I
need you to act on these requests immediately so that I can have the most
accurate reflection of our budget as we close out the year and make the best
use of funds for the entire membership.
