1.  Sadly last weekend, Jim Conlon, Flotilla Commander 1-4, died tragically
in an automobile accident.  In additional to Jim's good work as an FC, he
was also a member of this year's 1SR National Search & Rescue (NSAR) Team.
 Jim is survived by his wife, Margaret, and two daughters, Christine and
Cailin, ages 11 and 7.  

2.  We have established a fund to help the family as they begin to move
forward.  If any member or unit would like to contribute, checks can be made
out to the US Coast Guard Auxiliary First Southern with a note "Conlon
Family".  Checks should be sent to Gene Roth, DSO-FN, 4 Eastgate Road,
Massapequa Park, NY 11762.  We would like to present a check to the family
in early December.

3.  Please keep Jim and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
