1. Operational Security (OPSEC) is an important part of our daily routine.
Please ensure you are using discretion when discussing operations, be it in
person, on the phone or in an electronic format (both email and web based
information). The following types of information SHALL NOT be contained in
email sent to non-encrypted email addresses and SHALL NOT be posted on the
web:
DETAILS OF SCHEDULES AND TIMELINES FOR OPERATIONS AND ACTIVITIES, WITH THE
EXCEPTION OF SAR RESPONSE/SAFETY BOAT ACTIVITIES
SPECULATION OR DISCUSSION OF TERRORIST EVENTS, ACTIVITIES, AND FORCE
PROTECTION POSTURE
LOCATION, ACTIVATION, AND MISSIONS OF CG FORCES OR ASSETS
DEPLOYMENT PLANS FOR CG AND OTHER USE FORCES INCLUDING PORT SECURITY UNITS
PHYSICAL SECURITY WEAKNESSES OF CG OR OTHER FORCES
MOVEMENT PLANS AND PROCEDURES FOR CG AND NAVAL UNITS

PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION AND/OR UNIQUE IDENTIFIERS OF INDIVIDUAL
MEMBERS.
As we expand our presence on the web we must be mindful that the release of
information to the open expanse of the world wide web can be harmful to
National Security. OPSEC is a PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, please do your part.
2. Telecommunications Operator (TCO). All TCO qualifications paperwork
should be routed through your SO-CM, to Mr. Bob Brill, District
Qualifications Staff Member Communications, for processing.
3. Many thanks to all who have completed ICS 210. There is still space
available to take ICS-210 at the District Conference. Contact Donna Cole at
donnacole at optonline.net to reserve a space.
4. Some members have submitted certificates for ICS 210 from classes taken
outside of the First District. Members are advised that they must take a
Coast Guard approved course from a Coast Guard certified ICS-210 instructor
in order for this requirement to be validated.
5. Looking forward to seeing many of you at the District Conference 27-29
March 2009 at the Mystic Marriott. Remember to register no later than 21
Mar for meals. The registration form was mailed in a Special Edition of
Over the Bow and is also located on the 1SR website at
http://www.d1south.org/pages/conference.php

6. The purpose of this list is to keep Auxiliarists in the First Southern
abreast of current developments, policies, manuals, etc.
